2 Kings 3:14-25
The morning glow
When King Ahab of Israel died, the king of Moab rebelled against Ahab’s son Joram, the new king.
King Joram felt threatened, so he, together with the king of Judah and the king of Edom, went to see Elisha the prophet. Elisha told them, “Dig ditches all over the valley. Even though you will not see any rain, the valley will be filled with water for you and your animals to drink.”
When the Moabites heard that the three kings had come to fight against them, they got up early the next morning to prepare for battle. As the sun rose, the pools of water looked red in the morning light, and the Moabites thought it was blood.
“The kings must have fought against each other,” they said. “Let’s go and raid their camp!”
So they rushed in, but the armies of the three kings defeated the Moabites and then destroyed their fields and towns.
How should I deal with nasty comments?
Are you being hurt by nasty comments that make you feel embarrassed, worthless, or unwanted?
If God could use the glow of the morning sun to help the Israelites defeat their enemies, He can shine His love into your situation too. If other kids are trying to make you miserable, the Lord can change your situation just as He did for the Israelites. Pray until you feel the warmth of Jesus’ love shining into your life and bringing healing to your hurting heart.
Jesus is the best friend anyone could wish for. He will never leave you, no matter what happens. Remember that Jesus made you special, and that is exactly what you are. So enjoy being the person He made you to be!
Verse for today
But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. Malachi 4:2
