John
December 31
Revelation 22:12-21
“I am coming soon!”
John ends his letter to the churches with a message of hope and an invitation from Jesus Himself:
“’See, I am coming soon, and I bring My reward with Me to give to everyone according to the deeds he has done. I am the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.’
The Holy Spirit and the bride of Christ say, ‘Come!’
Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wants, let him drink of the water of life.
He [Jesus] who has said all this, declares: ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all. Amen.”
Can anyone come to Jesus?
Jesus invites all those who are thirsty for Living Water to come to Him. This is the same invitation He gave to the woman at the well (John 4:13). The Living Water is the Holy Spirit (John 7:38-39), whom Jesus gives to everyone who comes to Him.
The invitation is to every single person on earth. That is why Jesus simply said, ‘whoever’, which is another way of saying, anyone and everyone. It is the same word used in John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Have you asked Jesus to be your Savior?
